I could feel the moisture seeping into my clothes. It was this that brought me out of my state of semi-consciousness. The vampire grabbed at my wrists and started to bring them up to his mouth.

No way was I going to let him bite me again. Leveraging my legs, I kicked him hard, knocking him back. He fell to the ground. I tried kicking him again, but he moved out of the way too fast. He was back to full strength as if I hadn’t just knocked him to the ground.

Graham was right. This wasn’t going to be easy.

I kicked at him again. It was at that moment that the door crashed open and Graham stepped into the crypt. I was surprised to see that Aunt Betty was with him.

I froze when I saw the light of the immortal shining in my aunt’s eyes. She went for the Vampire Killer, her fangs on full display.

“Don’t do it, Beatrice.” A voice in the darkness.” He isn’t worth it.”

Beatrice laughed out loud. “How quaint coming from a vampire for a vampire. What do you think we should do with him?”

“There is the Crimson Court. Let his peers decide what is to happen to him,” Graham told her.

Beatrice laughed. “I don’t think so. He has been terrorizing this family for too long. In a flash, Betty’s hand sank into the vampire’s chest, and she pulled out his heart.

The surprise on his face before fell forward was almost worth it.
